About The Founder
is a proud native of Miami, Florida raised in a single parent home with younger siblings Britney and Timothy. Their mother Patricia, always made sure that they stayed active so community involvement was a major part of Crystal’s life. Participating in various sports since the age of eleven, coaching sports teams in the community, singing in and directing choirs, being a youth ministry leader at church, as well as being a member of the Order of Eastern Star ensured that there were many opportunities in which to grow personally and to serve as a positive role model to her siblings and peers. These experiences taught her what it meant to be part of a team and how to work together to achieve a common goal.
When the Feed Some Folk Project (FSFP) was started, Crystal was well equipped to fulfill the assignment she believes God gave her early one Saturday morning in August of 2013. At the time, she was unaware of any ministry, club or organization where she would be able to exercise her desire to serve so she created one. She called upon a few friends (Jackie Clark, Crystal Simmons, Jasmine Carey, Shandra Sheppard & Aisha Johnson) who readily assisted her in putting her last $50 into making small lunches for people in areas around the city of Miami.
This is Crystal’s largest, but not her only project that is executed several times per year with the collaborative help of other organizations and sometimes just a few friends. FSFP is an organization that simply wants to give back. Their vision is “To pass on the passion of philanthropy to others”.
As the founder of FSFP Crystal is committed to being a creative resource for other local organizations in their efforts to give back and to serve as a positive influence in their own communities.
In the great words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve". Essentially, she just wants to 'feed some folk' with the same love and compassion she received from the influential examples she has looked up to in her years of developing into an adult.
